DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the New Cumberland Public Library hold pre-owned book sales on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm in the Foundation House located across the shared parking lot from the Library. Sales include: hardback and paperback books in fiction and non-fiction\, DVD’s\, music CD’s\, puzzles\, children’s books\, 331/3 rpm vinyl records\, tote bags\, and notecards. The Friends have large collections of all genres of books\, DVD movies\, a children’s book corner\, and “specials” during each sale.  A great selection of gently used and vintage jewelry will also be for sale.

DESCRIPTION:We are proud to have secured the names and photos of 58 veterans to display on the street poles throughout New Cumberland in our “Hometown Heroes Project.”  These “Heroes” have lived in New Cumberland sometime during their lifetime. This recognition of veterans\, both deceased and active duty\, is very meaningful and the New Cumberland Olde Towne Association\, the American Legion\, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of New Cumberland will host a dedication to these “Hometown Heroes” on Veterans Day\, Wednesday\, November 11\, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.  The dedication ceremony will take place at Memorial Park (Park Avenue and Bridge Street). Besides representatives from the above organizations\, family members of the “Heroes” will be present as well as dignitaries from DLA\, the Senate of Pennsylvania\, and the House of Representatives. We invite you to join us as we honor veterans from all eras of service. \nThe Hometown Heroes Project has generated a good deal of community spirit and Patriotism in New Cumberland. This event is one that we see as bringing our community together in recognition of the men and women that have and are serving our country.
